Client: Kings Equine Therapy
Spring - Summer 2023
8 - 10 weeks
Budget: $3800+
Introduction:
A fun little brand identity for this nonprofit focused on communicating a safe and therapeutic space between patients and licensed therapists, with the assistance of therapy horses.
Problem:
Too many of my early sketches kept giving horsey playdate, or behavior classes for unruly equines. The logo needed to include a human element to show a healing relationship, not just a therapy appointment.
solution:
Using positive and negative space to outline the two embracing figures, contrast is guaranteed no matter the background.
Problem:
What do you build for your client who likes purple and has the most beautiful sunsets right behind their farm?
solution:
A strong but soft color palette featuring a deep plum base, gentle sunset-inspired hues and a teal accent to tie it all together. This split complementary color scheme utilizes the bold contrast between purple and yellow while drawing from their warm analogous neighbors in red and light coral. Fun, equine-inspired names have been assigned to this set to really create a unique family of colors that can be used for the lifetime of the company’s branding.
Gentle language. The branding needed to communicate love, safety and healing. But friendly colors and soft shapes only do so much for those struggling to find the right words.
So we had to make sure to use language designed to be inclusive and caring, letting clients know they will be in good hands... and hooves. Thanks to the help from professional copywriting services by Lianne Hikind we were able to craft the right copy to deliver the message.
