Project Duration: 6 years

Introduction:
Small business engineering firm based in South Florida specializing in concrete restoration and ocean engineering. They service an impressive number of the largest residential structures along our coastline, including many popular resorts and hotels. As such, company branding needed to reflect a sense of honesty, dedication to detail, and an emphasis on science and technology. The company has also grown to include other areas of expertise that needed to be represented in some way when formatting material about offered services. The original logo, created decades ago, needed some restoration.
Problem:
With no preexisting branding guidelines and office-printed company literature, all content presented lacked the visual impact that a company with such expertise should leave on its audience. The goal was to both differentiate between services offered and still make the set of materials feel cohesive.
solution:
My approach to this project was to assign colors to each type of service, using navy as the umbrella identifier. No black is used anywhere in the project, and this decision was deliberate to allow navy to stand as the most authoritative presence. Paired with a delicate, stock-sourced blueprint motif, content across all materials give a sense of transparency, as the viewer reads about the process behind each service.
Problem:
Logo + Company wearables. A good team deserves jerseys. In this case, logo embroidered uniform polos and company hardhats. Up until this point, the logo existed only as a decades-old pixelated jpeg that needed to be translated for application to, well... everything else.
solution:
After converting the logo to a vector file and placing it atop a bar of cut-out text, the rest was fairly simple for paper-printed items. For decals and application to mugs and hardhats, a PNG file was created for use as a sort of sticker on any background. But to go one step further, the company had just reached its 25th birthday and so I created a special award-badge logo to display in distinguished areas of company materials. The polos were decided by a fabric touch-test and the file was sent off for conversion to embroidery.
Of course, what is a branding package without merch? Trade shows are a must for this type of business, and people love their conference goodies almost as much as I love designing on them. Pens, tape measures, phone stands, and other functional promo gifts that will help potential customers remember who to call when they need that service.
